Summer Film Institute

Project AWARE and Video Creations are teaming up once again to bring you our second summer institute for video production. The Institute will be held for youths ages 13 - 18. The goal for the week will be to create a high quality public service announcement about a social issue to be determined by a group of young people (prior to the institute). The film institute attendees will then be responsible for producing a high quality video which will be marketed to make a difference and raise awareness about the issue that is identified.

Working as a team, young filmmakers will learn the "A-Z" of video production including production coordination, casting, directing, lighting, sound, photography, and post production including editing, and more.

Over the two years, Project AWARE and Video Creations have teamed up to create two high quality educational movies written, directed and acted in by young people (the Project AWARE Players) which raise awareness about critical issues in our community. In addition, Video Creations possesses some of the most advanced film production equipment in Maine, and Project AWARE provides workshops and presentations which raise awareness about youth issues reaching thousands of young people and adults annually. Overall, with Video Creations high-end technical savvy, Project AWARE's program work across Maine, and the two organizations experience in working together, attendees to the institute are practically guaranteed a great experience.

The Summer Film Institute will run from August 10-14 daily from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

Cost: $495
