Youth Rx Abuse Awareness Initiative

The Project Aware Youth Rx Abuse Awareness Initiative is a unique collaboration between two Maine Hospitals, two youth substance abuse prevention organizations, one private business and the State of Maine to raise awareness about youth prescription drug abuse in an effective and empowering way. This pilot project in York County will raise awareness amongst 50% of youth utilizing school based health class education and adult presentations by youth along with a multimedia campaign. Subject to funding, the initiative will reach 7,500 youth and 15,000 parents and educators. Please contact project Aware if you would like to support this important project.
